He is patient with my questions and when we need to try something different I am part of the decision making process. "She looks like a movie star, but she is a very brilliant Doctor. Imagine House, but nice. All joking aside, she saves my life. I have a quite complicated auto immune disease, but as hard as it is fighting my body, she fights harder. She makes sure I understand everything along the way. she even recommended me to a group to help me manage. I literally recommend her to anyone I hear complaining about this type of issue. She also has Lauren, her medical assistant, who really keeps you up on blood work, referrals, everything. Lauren is very knowledgeable and kind as well. I hope this review saves at least one person from going through years of medical doctors, who really wanted to be trained by the best and have the knowledge, but just don’t. It’s probably easier for those who can get to her first. I got really sick before I found her."

"I’ve been going to Utah Gastroenterology for decades. I’ve been through a few doctors- others moved out of State and I gained a new doctor. Every doctor I’ve met is top notch! Now I’m seeing Dr Christopher Maxwell. He’s a great listener, fast typer, and above all, great at determining the root cause of an issue. So, I’m sticking with him. I had a terrible Nissen Fundoplication, aka it’s where the surgeon wraps your stomach around your esophagus like a hot dog in a bun to control reflux from a hiatal hernia. I don’t think this procedure is done anymore but if you run into a gastroenterologist or surgeon who recommends it, RUN AWAY as fast you can. This procedure was NOT done by any Utah Gastroenterology Physician. I’m seeing them and receiving help from them for all the harm this procedure did to me. They’ve been a blessing to help me heal. Dr Maxwell represents the best medical care available. And, the doctors at Utah Gastroenterology are not shy to seek outside secondary opinions because I was sent to the UofU to see a lead gastroenterologist there and he agreed with the treatment plan at Utah Gastroenterology, medicine has got to learn how to shorten the Latin for us simple folks!"

I had a terrible Nissen Fundoplication, aka it’s where the surgeon wraps your stomach around your esophagus like a hot dog in a bun to control reflux from a hiatal hernia. I don’t think this procedure is done anymore but if you run into a gastroenterologist or surgeon who recommends it, RUN AWAY as fast you can. This procedure was NOT done by any Utah Gastroenterology Physician. I’m seeing them and receiving help from them for all the harm this procedure did to me. They’ve been a blessing to help me heal. Dr Maxwell represents the best medical care available. And, the doctors at Utah Gastroenterology are not shy to seek outside secondary opinions because I was sent to the UofU to see a lead gastroenterologist there and he agreed with the treatment plan at Utah Gastroenterology, medicine has got to learn how to shorten the Latin for us simple folks!"

"I’ve been with Dr. Pedersen for 16 years now. I’m 50 years old I got diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at 24 years old. Before finding Dr. Pedersen I had at least six different gastroenterologist in the Davis county area. And I can honestly say none of them were even close to the caliber of Dr. Pedersen. When one of them that I had seen before asked me how I was feeling and I said about 70% he said, well that’s better than 60%. Very frustrating to hear. The first time I met with Dr. Pedersen he looked me in the eye and said we fight this disease together. And he has done that with me for the last 16 years. He treats you like an equal never condescending, never looks down on you and is genuinely interested in how you are feeling and is personable which is definitely a plus. He is a great doctor and it wouldn’t be fair at all if I didn’t mention the nurse that as is his right hand, Whitney. Whitney is solid she always calls back and she always gets the job done whether it be a health or finance question, never leave you hanging at all. She is A+ just like dr. Pedersen. Together they make an awesome team. I wouldn’t want to be with anybody else. I can’t say enough good things about both of them. My life wouldn’t be the same without them. They literally helped me get my life back when my Crohn’s disease was at its worst."

But we're in a pandemic, and I encountered two employees who wore masks improperly; one with nose and mouth visible; and another person wearing an ineffective cloth fashion mask. They were all personable, but I would expect this type of southern Utah carelessness at Cafe Rio or WalMart. Inexcusable and infuriating. 80% of Covid deaths are among those 65 and older. I'm 74, and Covid, has to date, killed one out of every 260 Americans over the age of 65. This serious criticism does not apply to Dr. Siddoway personally."

Needless to say I saw Blair at Utah Gastroenterolgy and she knew exactly what was wrong and gave my husband and I her full attention and explains exactly what the cat scan showed and how to fix it. "After an unexpected GI Bleed in May of 2015, I was admitted to Dixie Regional Hospital. I was bleeding terribly, and my Hematocrit level was getting lower every minute. I was scared not knowing where the bleeding was coming from. I was attended by Dr. Woerlein, who was on call from Utah Gastroenterology. He literally saved my life because he knew how to treat my symptoms with Mirolax & IV Fluids. It took 2 days & it was awful. He diagnosed me with Ischemic Colitis. I really liked Dr. Woerlein & his bed side manner & professionalism. He spent 1 hour in my Hospital explaining everything to my family. I'm in stage III Kidney Failure, & I truly needed a good Doctor. I also had a UTI. Which was scary because I had never had one before in my life. I always have regular Colonoscopy's with Dr. Bown, & I have had a good experience. But I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Woerlein this time because he was the Doctor who treated me in the Hospital. I felt he needed to further investigate my Colon after my GI Bleed in May. I also wanted to thank him for taking care of me in the Hospital. And I wanted him to see me "normal" & not looking like I was going to die. I waited a month for my Colon to heal & then called for an appointment with him. I was told I couldn't see Dr. Woerlein because Dr. Bown was my previous Doctor & Dr. Woerlein was the new Doctor & at the bottom of the Totem Pole. I told the Receptionist that it didn't make sense to me. And that I had also seen Dr. Siddoway before. So why couldn't I see the Doctor that treated me in the Hospital? She explained (very rudely) to me that's how it's done in their Clinic by seniority. I was so disappointed. I like Dr. Bown, but Dr. Woerlein treated me for my GI Bleed in the Hospital & knew of my experience with him & his genuine concern for my well being. Eventually I gave in, because I had no choice. I scheduled another Colonoscopy even though I had one in 2011. And things were fine. After my procedure Dr. Bown told me I didn't have Ischemic Colitis. And that everything looked good in my colon. He also had NO explanation for my terrible GI Bleed in May that lasted for 3 days. I appreciated Dr. Bown's kindness & directness after my procedure, & he called my diagnosis a FALSE POSITIVE...I didn't have what Dr. Woerlein had previously diagnosed me with in the Hospital. I needed a Doctor that would take me into his office & actually talk with me about my options. I've never been in any Doctor's office or exam room to have a consultation at the Clinic. That seem strange to me. Just Wam Bam, procedure & out the door extremely medicated & not remembering one thing the Doctor had discussed with me. Thank Heavens I always took someone with me to remember what took place. I am really disappointed I'm not allowed to make an appointment with the Doctor of my choice. That truly needs to be fixed in this Clinic. And a person shouldn't be made to feel not in charge of their own health needs & the Doctor they connect with & feel comfortable with! I wouldn't know Dr. Bown on the street if I saw him. I've only spent 5 minutes before & after my Colonoscopies with him. He wouldn't know me either! He's done 4 of them for me over the years. Sad, isn't it? I will still have my regular 10 year Colonoscopies, & I will try to stay on top of my health in that area. I am 70 years old now, & I want to have the peace of mind that I have Doctors looking after my needs. Plus where else can I go at my age to search for a Doctor that will really meet my needs & take the time to talk with me as their patient like Dr. Woerlein did? To bad we can't choose our own Doctor's at the Clinic & I had to be in the Hospital to meet him. But he will never become by Gastroenterology Doctor unless he moves to another Clinic. And after all this is St. George & after 28 years here I still am looking for that person. I think I've found him in Dr. Woerlein. Sincerely Kathleen Taylor"
